Global warming is a growing concern, not only for scientists, but the general public. Temperatures at the Earth’s surface have increased by an estimated 0.6ºC over the 20th century. The 1990's were the hottest decade of the entire century.
NASA: "Global cooling is Bunk"
Global warming has neither stopped nor slowed in the past decade, according to a draft analysis of temperature data by NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
The analysis, led by Goddard director Jim Hansen, attempts to debunk popular belief that the planet is cooling. It finds that global temperatures over the past decade have "continued to rise rapidly," despite large year-to-year fluctuations associated with the tropical El Niño-La Niña cycles.

According to The British Lancet medical journal, we can expect human health risks to rise along with the progression of global warming.
Changes in sea level, rainfall, humidity and winds will increase death rates due to heat waves, infectious diseases, allergies, cholera, and starvation due to failing crops.
