On 12 December, International Day of Action on Climate Change, a number of events will be held at the entrance of South Park in Sofia, Bulgaria, to draw public attention to the international summit in Copenhagen and policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The emphasis will be on easy and accessible things which everyone can do to reduce their carbon footprint.

 

One of the activities will be a game called “Save the Earth”. All entrants will be divided into small teams. The aim of each team will be to save the Earth. They will have limited time to get from Point A (start) to Point B (save the Earth) along a specified route. There will be quizzed points at particular places along the route where the participants will answer questions on climate change. If they get them right, or take the right actionthey will be able to take a shortcut. The teams will have additional tasks to carry out along the route to increase the fun.

 

There will be exhibitions on climate change in the same location and workouts led by experienced fitness instructors.
